What a day... and it is only the beginning

Today, after fairly bad sleep, I got up late with a view to catch my usual bus at 8:55. Our working hours are from 9-18, which I find quite silly time but well... We have had a guest at home, Sveta, since 6am that morning who was meeting with Wendy. Wendy (my flatmate) usually leaves before me and told me Sveta will stay some half hour more which was fine with me. I did my things and 10min before my bus was due, Sveta asks, when am I leaving. When I tell her, she panicks a bit as she does not have a key, which I thought she was given by Wendy, so she needs to leave with me. Well... cool with me. Except the bus is going in 7min now, so I am not too excited about that. But Sveta packs fast and we are off. As we are leaving the house she slips... we look up and although it is raining, there is this layer of ice everywhere on the pavement. So we walk slowly, trying to avoid falling... and as we approach the bus stop I see my bus leave. Sveta suggests to wait with me but after 20min, my bus is no where. Several times the passing cars shower us, and I am all excited in the view of having a meeting today as well as coming so late to work. At the end I end up in marshrutka, which I hate, as you need to shout when your stop comes... which is fairly difficult since I cant see through the misty windows... anyways, with a help of one man, I get out at the right stop, I slide to my office on the ice... feeling, what a day... it is 9:45 and when i get down (our office is in the basement), I find out the door is locked and I am the first to arrive. So at least the first positive thing today... since my feet are wet and freezing right now...

Somehow I am not surprised. As if this post reminded me of something.
