A night at work

I have just missed one bus which gives me some 20min before I will have to go. It is Friday night and I am at work. I had Mazlina staying over for few days within a week that was incredibly busy cause of the Myanmar disaster. It meant running early to work doing nothing but things around Myanmar, leave rather early to meet Mazlina with lots of work left behind. Thus I had to work in the nights after coming back home as well. And as I noticed today, it is not the best to do accounting at 3am, nor it is good to review the accounting the next morning at 8am -> lesson learnt: 3am - I will do mistakes in the numbers and text, 8am next morning - I will not notice the mistakes when review... Lesson learnt 2: Learn lesson number one, as it is 1,20 am and I just finished correcting the accounting (I will have to review for mistakes later :o).

Anyways, I enjoy being at work as no one is here and I had time to do some work but not as much as I would have wanted. Even considered staying overnight but the place where our office is rather scary, so I will put up with the hour trip back home.

To make things more interesting, I forgot to take the keys from Mazlina, which means that for few minutes I was homeless, before I had my sister drive over and give me spare keys. Tomorrow I will have to go to pick up the keys to the airport, how boring.

Back to work though. I am responsible for the Myanmar crisis in my office. One thing is incredible, knowing so many things that one does not learn from the news. As well as seeing how the news treat information which they get. I think I have not been more frustrated or excited ever within one week. The work was great and the cooperation with the team abroad is awesome. The drawback was the work with some of my teammates, who visibly are not as excited as I am about doing the best for the cause and shocking is seeing the behaviour of the media as well as some of our other czech organizations. I could never believe there will be so much competition between organizations - NGOs - but now I got quite an insight into things. Why would someone hide truth when that means you might cause a lot more of people dying?!

Anyways, that is all for tonight. I need some sleep.... hmm.. lot of sleep.
