Ukraine won... excellent!!

I am sorry, Carrisa :o(

Yesterday I went to watch the match Ukraine vs. Switzerland with my Ukrainian friend.
We sat at the Old town square on the cobblestones, and watched the big screen, having the Swiss and Ukrainian crowds around us. I was quiet, watching, clapping once in a while, as I like to concentrate on the game. Behind us was this huge group of young high school girls from Ukraine with their teacher who came for short visit to Prague. And here they were on the most beautiful Prague´s square shouting and cheering for Ukraine, conducted by some local drunkish looking Ukrainian guy, who was coming up with ideas what to shout and the girls would voice it :o)).

So except for nice game and sore butt from the hard ground, I learnt new words such as Ukraino pered (sorry for spelling) or Treba gol as well as really cool shouts like Ya lyublyu shveycarskiy sir (I love swiss cheese) :o)).

I cannot help but cheer for Ukraine.. it is the last Slavic team in the Champs!!

LOL, no worries Mart'a hun' ;-) Yeah, yesterday I could have cried. But now, am happy again :-) Even though I am angry about certain commentaries I've read about the game. And hey, of course it's cool for the Ukraine, as the last Slavic team !! :) Oh, and guess what: I actually understood that sentence you wrote, i.e. would have understood it without reading your translation LOL Am so proud of myself haha....

Let's see how far the Ukraine can go...

I was very surprised how far Ukraine made it, as well as surprised how soon we have finished :o). But congratulations to Switzerland, they were really great to get this far!

Farid, Turkey is NOT playing... remember? They did not even make it to the WC!! DUH?!

Farid, I guess we two should avoid talking about soccer. Seems like Turkey will hate us forever. Peace...

But don't forget what happened AFTER that game you're most likely referring to.

"Most notably, the Turkish Football Association accepted full responsibility for the incidents in connection with the above-mentioned match and acknowledged the damage caused to the reputation of international football. At the same time, the association pledged that it would do everything in its power to prevent similar incidents being repeated in the future."

:-) Um, I don't even know :-s LOL Will ask her. She's so lucky though: Right upon arrival, she'll attend an eight-day work conference, of which a few days will be dedicated to hiking and whitewater rafting, can you believe that? :-D
