Did you ever hear about the plane carrying the Czech hockey team that was destroyed by the Russians because the Czechs defeated them in hockey?
I have not heard of this.
The only thing I know is that in November 1948, there were Troják, Šťovík, Jarkovský, Švarc, Pokorný a Stibor (all players of Czech ice-hockey team) in the plane that was going from Paris to London and that crashed.
That year, Czech R. was second on the World Championship after Canada.
And if you look at statistics, Russia (SSSR) has started to play World Championships since 1954 only (when they were 1st).
Our team managed to beat them for the first time in 1961.
Well that's interesting. It was a Czech professor of mine who explained this to the class, though she didn't explain with dates, just conspiracy, and your dates don't allow for conspiracy.
To be honest, I am not really surprised she told you. There is huge anti-russian and anti-communist trend in Czech r. right now and there are so many fantastic lies being told.
The thing I did after you told me is, that I simply searched it on the internet. The help was that my dad remembered that the players were flying to London. And I cant imagine Russia could shoot the plane above France.
As long as Canadians are the champions, nothing else matter! lol
Oh no, they suck... I do not mind to have the winner the team which plays fairly... And Canada is probably the worse where the fairness is concerned. :o))
(See the photo :o))).
